Gender nouns activity
The students were each given four coloured cards - Green for feminine, red for masculine, yellow for neuter and black for common. I read out the name of a gender noun and asked the students one by one to raise the correct coloured card to indicate the gender of the noun. Meanwhile the other students acted as referees to check if the colour held was correct or wrong. Then we did the activity with the class as a whole. It was great fun. The students pretended to be traffic policemen/women and the gender nouns I read out were people on bicycles. The traffic policemen/women had to hold up the correct colour t let it pass. What imagination!
